CLT Mission Hospital Project

CLT is working on a future plan to build a Mission Hospital, in three phases, subject to availability of funds, to provide much-needed services.

The shortage of well-equipped hospitals in Ghana is creating tragic fatalities, which are completely preventable. Rural and low-income populations, in Ghana, are the hardest hit, where there are only 0.3 beds per 1000 people, a stark contrast compared to the World Health Organization’s (WHO) standard of 5 beds per 1,000 citizens. Providing easier access to healthcare resources by increasing the number of hospitals for these low-income, rural populations will directly result in saving more lives of babies, mothers, and the majority of patients with treatable conditions.

To address this healthcare challenge, CLT is working on a future plan to build a Mission Hospital, in three phases, subject to availability of funds, to provide much-needed services. A summary of project phasing is below and is anticipated to be implemented over a 6 to 10-year duration:

  • Phase 1 will include outpatient facilities, & laboratory and imaging services.
  • Phase 2 will include an 80-bed in-patient facility.
  • Phase 3 will include a surgery center with 2 operating rooms, a 20 bed ICU, and an ER

The Capital Costs for the Project are estimated at $1 Million for Phase 1, $2 Million for Phase 2, and 2 Million for Phase 3.

CLT is seeking partnership opportunities to assist with any or all of the project funding. If you would like to learn more about this project, click here. If you would like to donate, click here.
