HUNGER RELIEF

Food Nutrition Program for 300 families in the Mafi Wute Township, Ghana

Mafi Wute, is a village in the Central Tongu District of the Volta Region of Ghana. The Mafi Wute village is a very poor community with an average income of less than a dollar per day per family. Average family sizes are 5 to 8 children per family.

Many families in the Mafit Wute township and surrounding areas are already faced with a very harsh poverty crisis and the Covid Pandemic has made a difficult situation worse for many of these families and their children. For these communities, there are no unemployment benefits or government support for those who have lost their income due to the pandemic. This project will provide food for up to approximately 1,500 individuals.

The estimated cost of procuring nutrition to support 300 families for 1 month is approximately $20,000. This food will provide nutrition for approximately 1,500 individuals and will serve a total of approximately 140,000 individual meals.
