2016 Water Supply Project

This project will address the water situation of the Suma boarding School.

Engineers Without Borders (EWB) partnered with the Sumaman School and CLT to address a water problem at the Boarding School campus. Prior to installing the water well, the students had to walk a long distance off-campus, multiple times a day, to fetch water for bathing, laundry, and other needs. The time spent fetching water during the day was impacting their academic work. With the assistance of EWB, a potable water well and water storage tank was installed on campus. Water from the potable water well is pumped up to the tank for storage, for efficient and easy delivery to the students when water is needed. This safe water source, right on campus, has made a big impact, helping the students save time and has allowed them to spend more time on their academic work. The project was completed in 2018.
